HOW TO DRILL SHELF PIN HOLES IN 2 WAYS

Want to make adjustable shelves in your cabinet? I'll show you how to drill shelf pin holes two different ways with simple jigs!

To start match the drill bit size to the shelf pin with a calibrator and test the fit.

MATCH THE FIT

Use painter's tape to avoid chipped edges from the tear out.

Make sure to always start from the same spot by marking with painters tape.

KREG SHELF PIN JIG

Set the depth stop on the Kreg jig to desired amount.

Clamp the jig in place and drill the first holes.

A set pin will hold the Kreg jig in place while drilling the shelf pin holes.

Start from the same end when drilling the shelf pin holes into the back section of the cabinet.

Now you can insert the shelf pins in the holes and have a fully adjustable shelf.

To make your own shelf pin jig, cut a piece of pegboard to match the height of your cabinet side.

DIY SHELF PIN JIG

Mark and align the pegboard where the desired shelf pin holes will be.

Set the drill bit to the right depth (use painters tape if you don't have a stop collar) and drill the shelf pin holes.

Repeat the process for the other side of the cabinet.
