Want to add a trellis to the top of an existing fence? This simple solution creates more privacy and gives vine plants room to grow!

Test out different configurations before committing.

Stain all of the pieces before assembling to save time and energy.

Attach the top trim to the lattice.

Now you can attach the front trim boards to the fence using stainless steel brad nails.

Attach the lattice to the fence using 3/4 inch exterior wood screws.

Now you can add the back trim boards with a brad nailer.

Add vertical support pieces between the pieces of lattice.

Cover seams on the front of the lattice with trim board.

Add vining plants to the trellis; because, what's a trellis without vining plants?
