How is 2023 over already? Here's a look back at the most popular DIY tutorials that were published this year at The Handyman's Daughter!
It's that time of year again! I always enjoy looking back at all the tutorials I published for the year, and seeing which ones are the most popular. It helps me learn what I should make more of in the coming year!
Ready to see what were the top 10 DIY tutorials of 2023 on The Handyman's Daughter? Check out the list below!
You know your tutorial is a good one when you refer to it yourself! During our recent kitchen remodel, I decided to upgrade our faucet to one of those fancy touch sensitive ones that turn on with a tap. Best. Thing. Ever! I went back and re-read my own instructions before I started, and it was so easy to install myself!
2023 was the year that I finished building our entire kitchen from scratch! The base cabinet tutorial comes in at #11 on the list, but the wall cabinet one was more popular.
This tutorial is one of the first things I published on The Handyman's Daughter back when it all started in 2015! It's been updated over time as I learn new tricks and tips for spray painting glass.
French cleats are so simple to make and install, and you can use them to hang almost anything securely to the wall! Best of all, you can easily separate the two halves if you want to switch it up!
I built sooooo many drawers for our kitchen remodel, I feel like I could make them in my sleep now! In this handy tutorial, I go over three different methods for building a drawer so you can pick the right one for your skill set!
What do you do when you completely mess up a project? Write a tutorial so I can help other people avoid the same mistake! I didn't realize that the IKEA Trofast frames for my son's Lego table had a clear varnish, so when I applied latex paint, it all peeled off! After some research, I discovered three ways to paint over that pesky top coat so it sticks properly.
Seattle summers are usually pretty mild, but it seems to be getting hotter every year. We still haven't sprung for central air conditioning, so we rely on portable air conditioners instead. This simple fabric casement window seal does a great job keeping bugs and hot air out of the bedrooms, and is now used in the winter to vent my xTool P2 laser cutter as well!
Pea gravel is a quick and easy way to transform an unused section of the backyard into a cozy patio area! I even extended the pea gravel to cover the entire area under our deck to get rid of the scraggly grass and improve drainage. It looks a million times better now!
Everyone is always looking for ways to improve their outdoor spaces without spending a ton of money! This list has been on my top 10 list for the last three years because there's something for everyone and every skill level!
What was once a small, broken bookshelf is now a functional set of shelves in our spare closet! This easy to install system is perfect for those side areas of a reach-in closet where things seem to get lost. I'll be installing another set of these in our bedroom for shoe storage soon!
Which of these projects is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

How did the strawberry planter strawberries produce? Was this a successful strawberry garden for you? I am curious if it was successful

It worked great! I planted everbearing strawberries, which produce fruit over the entire summer instead of all at once. We had a few ripe strawberries every day!

Like your tutorials very much. I especially like that you don't cater to "the female carpenter". Somehow that comment seems hurtful to women, like they can't handle anything other then craft types tuff.
